Ombre Hair DIY

Thursday 4 July 2013

Hey guys!

I'm back! Had an amazing holiday in Tenerife - it was seriously the best holiday I have ever been to. The hotel was amazing and I cannot recommend the entertainment team enough. If you are looking to go on a sunny holiday to Tenerife, I advise checking out Barcelo Santiago in Puerto de Santiago (South Tenerife). You will not be disappointed! The pool on the top floor was amazing, great sea view from the hotel room balcony as well! Wish I stayed longer!

Anyway, today I bring you with a DIY hair dye post. I re-ombred my hair whilst on holiday to make it more blonde and to increase the length of ombre. I used Loreal Preference in Very Light Ash Blonde.

The pack comes with a pair of gloves (that actually fit!), 1 colourant, 1 developer, 1 high shine elixir and a conditioner.
After mixing the high shine elixir with the colourant and developer, I started to apply the dye from the ends of my hair and then worked my way up to the mid-lengths and finally the highest section (which was just under my ear). I left the hair-dye to develop for about 30 minutes before rinsing it out and applying the conditioner.

Here are the results! Sorry about the bad quality, I forgot my camera so I had to settle for my iPhone. I will upload better photos the next time I whip out my SLR :)

So there you have it! It does look a little highlighted. I recommend getting someone to help you apply the dye as it is very difficult doing it yourself, at least that's what I think! I love this dye specifically as it does not make you have brassy orange hair and the colour is a very true ash tone. It is also better to use dye like this instead of bleaching. I hope you enjoyed this post! I will try to post more regularly again. I'm working at sugarscape for the next 2 weeks which I am very excited about! I will keep you all informed. Are any of you guys going on holiday this summer?
