August Favourites

Thursday, 29 August 2013

Hi everyone! I hope you've all been keeping well. I've been a busy bee as usual still trying to find a full-time job but I have managed to bring you with my August favourites. I haven't tried many new products this month but here are a few that have fast become my favourites!

Sanctuary Classics Hot Sugar Scrub

I got this beauty from boots recently and I am absolutely in love with it! It's very relaxing and it is hot to the touch which I find quite extraordinary. The scrub is a great exfoliator and cleanses the skin very well. A whole list of celebrities even use it, from the likes of Michelle Keegan, Holly Willoughby, Kelly Brook, Alesha Dixon and Abbey Clancy! This product costs £12 at boots.

I love this product! I bought it because I want to help improve my hair growth, making the roots of my hair more healthy to promote faster growth. I do believe this product works well, however, don't expect results over night! This treatment leaves the hair well conditioned and silky smooth! Definitely a bargain at £7.99. You can purchase this at boots.

This product smells absolutely divine! It leaves a beautiful after-fragance long after you're out the shower. This shower gel contains a whooping 500ml of delcious product! Which is sure to last a while. I have noticed this product leaves your skin feeling fresh and soft as well as hydrated which is perfect for me :) You can purchase this at boots for £6, however they are always doing special 3 for 2 offers so look out for those!

Another amazing Soap and Glory product! I'm absolutely loving Soap and Glory products at the minute as you can see! This glow lotion leaves skin with a lovely natural glittery sheen which is perfect for a night out or special occasion. The fragrance of this lotion is gorgeous; it smells wonderful. I don't know how I've survived so long without it! This costs only £5.50 at boots. Michelle Keegan is known for using this as well too.

Fast Shampoo & Conditioner Set

I haven't actually had the chance to use this yet but I heard about it from Laura's blog and decided to take the plunge! My hair does grow pretty quick and tends to grow pretty long as well but I still wanted to speed up the process as I want to get a lot of layers. I have heard rave reviews about this so I'm hoping it will do the trick. They cost a hefty £24.99 at boots, however, I see it as a good investment!

MAC Arena Eye Shadow

Arena is a gorgeous peach-gold colour with a lovely sheen to it. It is the perfect nude-tone colour for my skin tone and I haven't stopped using it since I bought it! This goes very well with the next eye shadow I got..

MAC Soba Eye Shadow

Soba is a gold-brown colour with gold shimmer and it is perfect for an all over eye shadow look or it can be used on the outer corners. This is such a lovely summer colour and I like the way it looks - perfect for special occasions or everyday wear! You can buy these eye shadows online at maccosmetics.co.uk or instore.

Top 10 MAC Lipsticks

Tuesday, 13 August 2013

Hey everyone!

I hope you're all well! It's been absolutely ages since my last post and I am terribly sorry about that - I have been so busy lately, looking for a full time job and what not. It's been a bit of a whirlwind since I graduated university. I did work experience placements at Top of the Pops and Reveal Magazine as some of you may know. And most recently I was a writer at sugarscape.com which was my absolute favourite place to work! As well as writing many articles on the website, I also got the chance to interview a celebrity which was really exciting! I am still looking for a permanent position within the media but it's proving to be a bit of a challenge!

I know I have told you guys for ages that I would do a 'Top 10 MAC lipsticks' post but it just never happened! Today I finally got round to it and I can now show you my Top 10 must-haves. I hope you enjoy this post :)

1. Freckletone (Lustre)

Freckletone is a lovely nude-peach colour that compliments most skintones. This is my favourite nude lipstick from MAC as it's got a nice lustre finish with buildable coverage. This is one of a few nude colours that don't wash me out. I like to wear this with MAC's lustreglass in 'Sinnamon' which is a neutral beige colour. The colour of this lipstick is gorgeous and really goes well with a natural look.

2. Impassioned (Amplified)

Impassioned is an almost neon fuchsia pink. It's a very vibrant and bright colour which is what I love about this particular lipstick. Its a perfect summer shade that will compliment a lot of skintones. This would also work well for a glamorous night look.

3. Deeply Adored (Matte)

Deeply Adored is a limited edition deep scarlet colour. It's my absolute fave dark red lipstick. I bought it last year when the Marilyn Monroe collection was released in the UK and I haven't regretted it since - this lipstick compliments a vampy look. It's a very sexy red and the matte finish isn't drying at all which is a plus.

4. Russian Red (Matte)

Russian Red is another scarlet red lipstick though it's not as dark as 'Deeply Adored.' This lipstick is also a matte finish, but unlike the popular 'ruby woo' lipstick, it isn't drying at all. This red lipstick will suit a range of skin-tones though it's probably best to try it in-store before purchasing. This is definitely my favourite true red lipstick! Here's a photo of me wearing this:

5. Runaway Red (Satin)

Yep, yet another red! You can probably tell by now that I love red lipstick haha. This is a limited edition berry-red lipstick. It's a little darker than 'Russian Red' but lighter than 'Deeply Adored' in my opinion, with a slight sheen to it. It's very pretty and I love to wear this colour particularly in the A/W. Here's a photo of me wearing this lipstick:

6. Violetta (Amplified)

Violetta is a lovely pinky purple colour. It has a vibrant tone and has a creamy amplified finish. It's darker than 'Up the Amp' and I personally prefer this. This is my favourite purple shade from MAC :)

7. Girl About Town (Amplified)

Girl About Town is a true fuchsia pink that is slightly darker and more pink than 'impassioned.' This is my favourite pink to wear as it has the right amount of impact and colour which lasts for ages! I love wearing this during the day or at night time for a more dramatic look. Here's me wearing this lipstick:

8. Lady Danger (Matte)

Lady Danger is a vivid bright coral-red that instantly brightens up your face when applied! It's such a unique colour and compliments a range of looks. Rita Ora is known for wearing this lipstick!

9. Modesty (Cremesheen)

Modesty is a neutral muted pink. It has a cremesheen finish which is perfect for an everyday natural look. This lipstick also goes well with a dramatic smokey eye. I wear this lipstick all the time on it's own or with cremesheen lipglass in 'superb' or a pro longwear lipglass in 'Next Fad' on top. It is my favourite everyday lippie!

10. Fusion Pink (Amplified)

Fusion Pink is a limited edition red-pink. It has a nice sheen to it and looks particularly nice on tan-dark skintones in my opinion. It has a slight coral hint to it as well. I wore this lipstick a lot whilst on holiday.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post! Let me know if you have any other suggestions on blog posts for the future :) I am going to Ireland this weekend so the next blog will probably not be up until next week - there won't be a long break like there was last time I promise! Thank you all for reading. And to those of you receiving their A Level or other results this week, I wish you all the best!
